Tracy Morgan - Former 'Saturday Night
Live 'NL Comedian Arrested on DUI Charge
Former SNL alum Tracy Morgan, who now co-stars on NBC's 30 Rock, was arrested yesterday in Upper Manhattan on drunken driving charges.
Edison Alban, a spokesman for District Attorney Robert Morgenthau, sais Morgan was stopped around 4:30 a.m. while driving a Cadillac Escalade on the Henry Hudson Parkway near West 158th Street.
Police reported that Morgan smelled of alcohol and that he later failed a breathalyzer test at the 28th Precinct station house, and that he would be arraigned later in Manhattan's state Supreme Court on charges of driving while intoxicated and driving while impaired.
Last December 2, Morgan was arrested in Hollywood, California on an impaired driving charge after police stopped him for speeding. Authorities at that time said his blood alcohol level was 0.13 percent, over the legal limit of 0.08 percent.
On Feb. 17, Morgan pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of drunken driving. He was sentenced to 36 months' probation, fined $390 and ordered to attend an alcohol education program.

Tracy Morgan - Ordered To Wear Alcohol-Tracing Bracelet
30 April 2007 (WENN)
A Los Angeles judge has ordered comedian Tracy Morgan to wear an ankle bracelet detecting alcohol consumption and to complete five days of community service. In a New York court in February, Morgan pleaded guilty to drunk-driving in November 2006. He was ordered to enter a doctor-supervised alcohol program, undertake community service and avoid being arrested again for six months. However, the conditional discharge violated a previous drink-driving conviction relating to a December 2005 incident in Hollywood.
So at a Los Angeles Superior Court hearing on Friday, Morgan was ordered to wear a Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitoring (SCRAM) device on his ankle, which will test for alcohol consumption every 30 minutes for 90 days.
Should Morgan test positive for alcohol use, he will have to start the 90 day period again. If he tests positive twice he will be sent to jail for 30 days. The actor, who was not present at Friday's hearing, is due in court on May 25 when he will be fitted with the SCRAM device, reports

Tracy Morgan - Talks drinking and sobriety
By JAKE COYLE, AP Entertainment Writer
NEW YORK - When Tracy Morgan hosts Spike TV's "Guys Choice" awards on June 13, he'll be wearing an alcohol monitoring device around his ankle.
There's no better symbol to Morgan's current situation. The comedian and "30 Rock" co-star has recently experienced several alcohol-related troubles, but said in an interview with The Associated Press that he's trying to "keep moving forward."
In February, Morgan, 38, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor drunken driving charges in New York. He previously pleaded no contest to a DUI charge in Los Angeles. As part of his court-ordered treatment, Morgan was recently fitted with the monitoring device, which he'll wear for two months.
A few weeks ago, a Miami disc jockey filed a misdemeanor battery complaint against Morgan, alleging he groped her, claiming he smelled of alcohol at the time. Morgan declined to comment on that charge because, he said, "It's still being worked out and resolved."
Further, a video clip of Morgan appearing on a morning show of a Texas ABC affiliate was posted on YouTube titled: "Tracy Morgan Wasted on Live TV." In the video, which has been watched by over 430,000 people, Morgan takes off his shirt, slaps his tummy and jokes that the sound is a "mating call."
Morgan insisted he wasn't drunk for that television appearance and said he's disappointed that negative media coverage of him has taken on "a life of its own."
On his drunk driving, he said: "It happened. Unfortunately, it happened. I'm not perfect. I'm like anyone else. Driving under the influence isn't cool. I have kids and I don't want anyone to get the wrong message about that. It's something I've resolved in my life. Things got a little bumpy and it was taken care of. And I feel great about it and feel good in my sobriety."
Morgan, who is married with three children, said he deals with his alcohol problems "one day at a time."
"I don't know about tomorrow, but I know that today I don't want a drink," he said.
In the meantime, Morgan is shooting "First Sunday," which stars Ice Cube. The "Guys Choice" awards will be his first gig as an awards host, and he expects to follow it by hosting VH1's "Hip Hop Honors" later this year.
"I'm a guy!" exclaimed Morgan. "I want to be a guy, guy! I'm the king of the guys that night."
The show will tape on June 9 in Los Angeles and air June 13 on Spike at 10 p.m. (EDT). Each award category presents two head-to-head nominees, such as "hottest girl on a the planet," which pits Beyonce against Adriana Lima.
Morgan expects to improvise a little during the show, and even claims he's never written a joke in his life.
"You conversate," he said. "To me, Richard Pryor, it was a conversation."
Morgan, a former cast member of "Saturday Night Live," will also return to "30 Rock" for its second season this fall. NBC renewed the sitcom for the 2007-2008 season in April.

Tracy Morgan - Tells
judge he fell off the wagon
Posted Sep 18th 2007 - TMZ
"30 Rock" star Tracy Morgan admitted in court today to consuming alcohol on August 4 -- a violation of his probation stemming from a DUI conviction.
As a result, Morgan was ordered to wear the SCRAM device an additional 80 days and complete 10 AA meetings by October 23.
If he violates his probation again, Los Angeles City Attorney spokesman Frank Mateljan tells TMZ that Morgan would go to County Jail for 30 days.
Morgan violated his probation in Los Angeles when he was arrested for D.U.I. on November 28 of last year in New York.
Tracy's rep, Matthew Hiltzik, tells TMZ: "Tracy's monitoring bracelet has consistently confirmed his sobriety. While the device's lone positive finding -- at a recent stand-up comedy club performance -- was contested, Tracy has decided to wear the bracelet for an extra month to further prove he's remained alcohol-free."
