Richie Sambora - 'Bon Jovi' guitarist is in Rehab
Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora checked into rehab yesterday after a disastrous MTV gig.
Sambora, 47, is being treated in Los Angeles for an undisclosed substance abuse problem.
It follows an MTV show in New York on Tuesday, described as "laughable" by audience members.
The guitarist was so blitzed and off-key during the recording of Bon Jovi
"Unplugged" that his bandmates turned his microphone off - without him even noticing.
His publicist appealed for privacy and confirmed: "Richie Sambora has entered an undisclosed treatment facility in LA."
Sambora split from actress Denise Richards several months ago after a year-long relationship.
It began when he split from wife Heather Locklear.

Richie Sambora may not be charged with DUI if his blood alcohol tests show he was below the legal limit.
According to TMZ.com, Richie Sambora may be able to evade his DUI charges for the simple fact that he may not have been driving under the influence of alcohol.
Sambora voluntarily submitted to a blood alcohol test after he was arrested in Laguna Beach Tuesday, which may take up to a week to find out the results.
Sources told TMZ that Sambora did not have that much to drink prior to his arrest and his blood alcohol level may have been under the California legal limit of .08.
That being said, the Bon Jovi guitarist could still face charges if he is found to have been driving erratically with any level of alcohol in his body.
Sambora was arrested at 10:52 p.m. on the Pacific Coast Highway after Laguna Beach police spotted his car "weaving within lanes," according to the New York Daily News.
If Sambora’s tests come out positive, he could also face child endangerment charges for putting his 10-year-old daughter, Ava, and another child who was in the car at risk.

Sambora was also ordered to pay court fees
Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora has been sentenced to three years' probation after admitting to driving under the influence of alcohol.
The 48-year-old pleaded no contest, prompting the judge in Santa Ana, California to drop a second charge.
Sambora, who was not at the court hearing, will also have to attend first offender alcohol awareness classes.
He was arrested on 25 March in Laguna Beach after his car was seen weaving between traffic lanes.
Insufficient evidence
Sambora is forbidden from having any measurable quantity of alcohol in his system while driving as a condition of his probation.
A woman and two children were travelling with the musician at the time, leading police to ask a charge of child endangerment to be brought against Sambora.
But prosecutors said they had insufficient evidence to proceed.
The two children were released to the woman's custody after Sambora's arrest.
The musician co-founded Bon Jovi in 1983, along with frontman Jon Bon Jovi, keyboardist David Bryan, bassist Alec John Such, and drummer Tico Torres.
Their hit albums include Slippery When Wet, New Jersey, and Keep the Faith.
The group released their latest album, Lost Highway, in 2007.
