Nov 6th 2007
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. Actress Rebecca De Mornay, who rose to fame opposite Tom Cruise in "Risky Business," was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving in Beverly Hills on October 30.
De Mornay, 48, was driving alone when she was pulled over for an alleged traffic violation around 10:30 p.m. near Sunset Boulevard and Foothill Road, according to Beverly Hills police Lt. Tony Lee.
Officers "immediately detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage" coming from De Mornay, and gave the actress a number of field sobriety tests, Lee said.
Police then determined that De Mornay was driving under the influence and arrested her, Lee said.
Her blood-alcohol level was 0.09 percent, he said.
She was cited and released at the Beverly Hills police station at 12:44 a.m. October 31, Lee said.
De Mornay has appeared in films such as "The Hand That Rocks the Cradle," "Backdraft," "Lords of Dogtown" and "Wedding Crashers." She most recently appeared in the now-canceled HBO series "John from Cincinnati," and appears in the upcoming films "Music Within" and "American Venus."
