Dear Mike,

Congratulations on getting a break from your sentencing judge, Superior Court Judge Helene Abrams. She obviously witnessed you make a big change in your life. I pray you continue successfully down the road to sobriety. 

I am writing to you today to let you know that no matter what has transpired in your life up to now, can be used as a stepping-stone for a wonderful future.

Enclosed please find a copy of my book, “Once Life Matters: A New Beginning.” I wrote it for people just like us; who try to find the right way in life but continuously bump into brick walls. 

Please read how God changed me 26 years ago. My life was in constant turmoil when I was in the entertainment business. I was always in and out of trouble either because of drugs or alcohol abuse. If I was not arrested for cocaine possession in 1981, I know for sure I would be dead. God stopped me in my tracks. It turned out to be the best thing that ever happened, even though I had to serve time in prison.

I hope my book inspires you as much as your illustrious boxing career has inspired me.
