Deputies say the sweep is one of many more to come.

11 Arrest, 2 Meth Labs Seized As Deputies Crack Down On Crime

KTHV Television - Little Rock, AR 1/19/2007

Pulaski County Sheriff's deputies are looking for 27-year old Paul Clark.

Clark is wanted on a felony parole violation.

Deputies make their way inside the home, located at 18 Fra-Mar Place from a back entrance.

Once inside, they find Clark hiding underneath the kitchen sink.

His arrest is just one of several Friday as part of Operation January Sweep. It’s an effort to clean up the neighborhoods---mainly of drugs.

Pulaski County Sheriff Doc Holladay says, “The purpose of this operation is to let the people of north Pulaski County and Pulaski County in general know that we are after the drug dealers, we will be out there looking."

They’re concentrating in rural parts of the county where deputies say drug dealing is a major problem.

An area off Highway 5 on W. Justice and Arnies Valley Roads is commonly referred to as meth mountain---because of the number of people, deputies say who manufacture meth.

As part of the drug sweep, deputies seized two meth labs in the area and neighbors say they're thankful for the help.

Resident Dee Shaw says she's complained numerous times to law enforcement; “I'd like to have it all cleaned up because we have young people who live out here. People move out here to get away from it and they're all out there."
In the Gravel Ridge community on Fra-Mar that’s what John Steele hopes for, to see his neighborhood free from drugs and crime.

Steele says, “It really irritates me cause I have 3 kids and I really can't stand seeing the trouble they have out here with it."

Pulaski County Sheriff's deputies say while they're pleased with the number of arrests, it's just the beginning of more to come.

Sheriff Holladay says, “We want the drug dealers to know that we're not forgetting about them and we're coming after them."

Bed space at the Pulaski County Detention Center is at a premium, Sheriff Holladay says space was made available for all those arrested.
