"Once Life Matters: A New Beginning"

Excerpt

In 1995 my father, who was eighty-two,
developed Parkinson’s disease and desperately
needed my help. So I took a leave of
absence and left the Drug Abuse Foundation
and moved to Fort Lauderdale. I saw this as
another ministry in which God wanted me to
serve Him.

During the next two years, my father
and I grew a little closer. It took a lot of work
because he was a rather cool, distant person.
But I was glad for the progress we made.
He passed away in 1997, leaving me
to care for my mom. I remained loyal to her
and to my ministry...

While I was caring for my mother, I couldn’t
do much work on the book. After 2004, when
Mom passed away, I renewed my commitment
to finish the work. Another door was
opening. It was time.
