re: sentencing
Dear Lindsay,
I am sorry to hear of your recent sentencing and upcoming incarceration. My heart goes out to you, young lady. It seems like every time you turn around something else pops up to throw you off course.
You have been on a rough road, Lindsay. Many have traveled on it before you and wound up with similar consequences. It is tough to keep running into the same brick wall.
I know exactly how you feel. It was back in 1980 when I was 35 years old that my life took a drastic turn and wound up getting arrested and had to serve a six-year federal prison sentence. Prior to that I had many run-ins with the law. I wish I would have learned my lesson after each brush. However, I thought I knew better and ran the streets of Hollywood working in the entertainment business thinking everything I was doing was right and legal.
There are only certain times in our lives that we are open to listening to the voice of God. It is at this moment in your life that He has your attention... and speaking loud and clear that something has to change.
I wrote you back in 2007 and sent you a copy of my enclosed book, "Once Life Matters: A New Beginning" and let you know at that time I was willing to serve your then pending jail sentence if you were willing to enroll in and complete
a 12-month faith-based residential treatment center. I never heard back from you. However, if you would have taken me up on my offer you would not be facing this current incarceration now... three years later.
My offer still stands, Lindsay. I petitioned your judge asking her to allow me to serve your jail
and rehab sentence if you would be willing to enter a 12-month faith-based program. This could easily happen. I have seem it happen in other states and if you are truly serious about wanting to change your life then maybe... just maybe.. we can convince the judge to allow you to do this.
Please think and pray about this offer, Lindsay. We could give it a try through your attorney and if so, please have her get back to me so we can put this program together.
You are a very bright lady who just has a few issues that needs correcting. I know God can straighten all this mess out for you if you would just give Him 12 months of your time. Consider it as an investment in your future.
May God richly bless you and keep you strong. You can get through this time and I know you will be a better person because of it ... Even if you don't take me up on my offer remember... "this too will pass." Let time serve you. Don't just serve the time.
Warmest regards,
Marty Angelo
ps .. I am also enclosing a book written by former inmate, Katie Souza entitled:
"The Captivity Series: The Key To Your Expected End" and also one written by another former ex-inmate Trish Hart entitled,
"You Are Never Alone." If you don't finish these by your incarceration date please let me know and I will ship them again to the Lynwood facility after July 20th. Both of these books should help you out a lot. These gals have been down the same road... just under different situations.
