Re: Lindsay Lohan, Case no. BH07BV01538-01
Dear Judge Revel:
I have approached Ms. Lindsay Lohan through her attorney, Shawn Chapman
Holley, Esq. on July 8, 2010 in regards to her upcoming 90-day sentence
to county jail. I am enclosing a copy of the email I sent to Ms. Holley.
My interest in this case has been on-going for many years. I reached out
to Ms. Lohan back in 2007 and offered to serve her jail time then if she
would agree to enroll in a 12-month faith-based residential treatment
program. Unfortunately, she did not respond to my offer and it seems
like she wasted the last three years getting herself deeper in trouble.
My background is somewhat similar to Ms. Lohan's though I was never as
famous. However, I worked for over 15 years in the entertainment
business working with some very well-known stars and recording artists.
I suffered many of the same woes as Ms. Lohan, even spending a few
nights in the Beverly Hills Jail and did not learn from that experience
and eventually did a six-year federal prison sentence back in 1980 for
two counts of possession of cocaine.
My life changed when I had a spiritual awakening in 1981 prior to my
incarceration. When I went to prison I was a new person through Jesus
Christ. I applied my time to help others and grew as a prison minister
and substance abuse counselor and eventually upon my release worked in
many nationally known ministries. I write about my experiences in my
enclosed book, "Once Life Matters: A New Beginning."
I know Ms. Lohan would benefit from a 12-month faith-based residential
treatment program and am so convinced I would even be willing to serve
her 90 jail sentence if she would enroll in one of the ones I
recommended in my email to Ms. Holley.
There is nothing in this for me. I only want to see Ms. Lohan change her
life and maybe by her change others will change as well. Her generation
is going wild without any true meaning, plan or purpose. I feel Ms.
Lohan would go on to directly have an impact on her age group.
I pray you will see the bigger picture here and not just concentrate on
Ms. Lohan. Sure, society needs justice in her case. She truly has not
listened to the many people who have tried to direct her ways. However,
this is a golden opportunity to send a real message to the world. God
does still change people's lives for the better and Ms. Lohan could be
the one who could shout it from the rooftops once she successfully
completes her program.
I have not heard back from attorney Holley therefore I am no idea if Ms.
Lohan would agree to my offer. However, I would like to place this
letter in your hands with the hopes you will present it as an
alternative to Ms. Lohan's incarceration.
Thank you for your time in this matter. If you have any questions,
concerns or comments please feel free to contact me.
Warmest regards,
Marty Angelo
