Dear Ms. Berk,
I recently faxed and mailed a letter to your client, Miss Lindsay Lohan regarding helping her find an alternative program in lieu of any possible upcoming incarceration. I sent her this
letter before her recent DUI/cocaine related arrest. I did not hear back from either Miss Lohan or from you, therefore, I am making this last attempt to again offer my services.
I have contact with numerous faith-based programs across the United States who would be interested in helping Miss Lohan if she truly wants to change her life.
Helping someone with a serious drug or alcohol problem takes more than just feeling sorry for them. It takes the client to have a deep desire to change, with the attitude of doing “whatever it takes, for however long it takes.” If Miss Lohan has that deep desire than I offer my services free-of-charge to help find the right program for her.
Most secular programs offer their clients; “the quick fix” and many substance abusers fall into that advertising trap believing it is true. It is sad to see so many people think they can throw money at their addictions and enroll in such programs only to come out of them the same way they entered. Miss Lohan is a perfect example, with her 45-day stay at her latest rehab attempt. It obliviously did not work.
There are many “successful” faith-based programs available for Miss Lohan. Many of them require a one-year commitment. It may seem like a long time however, if she is serious about wanting to change then it should not matter to her how long it takes.
I really feel you need to stress to your client that she is at a critical time in her life where whatever decision she now makes will truly affect her future, not only as an actor but also as a human being.
This maybe the last chance she ever gets to change her life. If nothing does change then she faces three possible horrible consequences of continuous substance abuse: incarceration, long-term hospitalization, or death.
It looks as though she is now facing one of those consequences with her upcoming court
appearance. I feel incarceration will not help Miss Lohan however, the courts may think differently. If Lohan is willing to make a one-year commitment to enter a
faith based program I feel I would be able to convince the
court to allow this to happen.
I was a court liaison for various programs throughout my 26-year career and have made hundreds of court
appearances representing substance abusers that wanted to change their lives through
faith-based programs.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.
God bless you,
Marty Angelo
