Dear Lindsay,

It really is great to see you have taken the right steps in getting the help you need with your substance abuse lifestyle. When you stated you were personally taking responsibility for your sobriety and not just doing it to please the courts shouted out a message of hope for others as well.

You have so much to live for, Lindsay. Once you get this behind you I know you will look back and see God's hand in all of this. It maybe tough to see right now because you are in the midst of the fight but believe me it is all worth it. The real peace that came with my sobriety was enough for me. Everything else God gave me were pure blessings. 

There is a scripture in the Bible that reads, "...Forgive and you will be forgiven" (Luke 6:37). I truly believe that verse was written especially for you. It maybe hard to understand now but I think it will help you if you apply it to forgiving your father, Michael. He may have said and did some terrible things in the past but it will not help you if you hold un-forgiveness in your heart. It only grows into a root of bitterness and your life only gets worse over time. 

Please think seriously about this, Lindsay. If you pray for your dad and the rest of those who have harmed you it will be easier to deal with your own issues. It is hard to hold onto bad feelings for others if you pray for them. By doing so you release them to God and He will have His way in their lives.

Please know you hold a very special place in my heart. My outreach to you started back in 2007 and know what is happening to you right now is an answer to not only my prayers but those of thousands of others who truly do care for you.

Please keep up the great work, Lindsay. I look forward to seeing you continue to grow into the woman you always hoped you would be.
