Prison Minister Marty Angelo On the Sentencing of Conrad Murray
December 01, 2011 - Gather News - Celebs - Corrina Jean
Many people have strong opinions on the conviction of Dr. Conrad Murray, who has been held responsible in the death of music icon Michael Jackson.
Prison minister Marty Angelo has worked in the entertainment business and knows the pitfalls of Hollywood all too well. He has left the glitz and glamour of Hollywood behind and now works as a minister, hoping to help troubled celebrities. He recently spoke about the sentencing of Dr. Conrad Murray.
On his website, Angelo
says:
"Dr. Murray was truly at fault for Michael Jackson's death. He should have been monitoring Jackson while he was administering the sleep drug Propofol to him. However, Michael Jackson was abusing the deadly drug long before he hired Dr. Murray and knowing that fact should have been
Dr. Murray's golden opportunity not to enter into Michael Jackson's world."
"My prayers go out to his Michael Jackson's family, friends and fans and also to Dr. Conrad Murray and his family. It is truly a tragic situation and one that certainly could have been avoided."
Murray was in the perfect position to try and help Jackson, but instead he chose to give the medication to Jackson which subsequently led to his death. Murray's lack of remorse regarding Jackson's death was also noted during the sentencing.
Murray was sentenced to four years in jail, though it is believed that, due to overcrowding, he will serve two of those four years. Many celebrities in California have been sentenced to longer terms, but ended up serving only hours or days, like in the case of Lindsay Lohan.
Incidentally, Marty Angelo was on hand to speak on Michael Lohan's behalf after Lindsay Lohan's sentencing earlier this month.
