Dennis Hopper - Legendary actor diagnosed with prostate cancer... once battled drugs and alcohol abuse

Living legend Dennis Hopper has prostate cancer and is canceling all travel plans to focus on his treatment.

His manager, Sam Maydew, tells Access Hollywood that the 73-year-old actor and artist is being treated through a “special program” at USC.

Hopper was forced to miss an exhibition at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image in Melbourne called “Dennis Hopper and the New Hollywood,” a collection of his artwork and photography

Hopper recently finished shooting the second season of the Jerry Bruckheimer TV series “Crash” and has several film projects in the works.

According to Hopper's biography his movie, The Last Movie (1971), was a commercial and critical failure. This sent him into a tailspin, and he sank into a period of intense alcohol and drug abuse.
