Christian Slater highly-publicized record of alcohol and drug
abuse
Slater has had several altercations with the police and other authorities. On August 11, 1997, he was arrested by police in Los Angeles and charged with three counts of assault with a deadly weapon and one count of battery. Slater, drunk and high on heroin, punched his then-girlfriend, fashion editor Michelle Jonas, in the face at a party and bit a man who attempted to protect her. Slater did not go quietly, but hid in a stairwell and fought with officers, reportedly shouting, "the Germans are coming and they will kill us!" He then attacked a police officer. All the felony charges against him were eventually dropped. He was sentenced to three months in prison, serving 59 days for good behavior.

Ryan Haddon-Slater
In 2003, his wife, Ryan Haddon, was arrested for beating up Slater at a Hard Rock Cafe while on a trip to Las Vegas and he later received stitches.

Christian Slater - Actor sentenced to jail
January 9, 1998
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Actor Christian Slater failed Friday to dodge a 90-day jail term for beating his girlfriend and fighting police who found him screaming in a hallway during a drug and alcohol bender.
Judge Joseph S. Biderman rejected Slater's request to substitute time already spent in a drug treatment center -- 118 days -- for the jail term, which would have wiped it out.
But the judge did let Slater begin the sentence on January 14 rather than Saturday, the date previously set.
Slater's term is to be followed by three months in a residential drug treatment program and a year in a treatment program for batterers.
The 28-year-old star of such movies as "Broken Arrow" and "Interview with a Vampire" pleaded no contest last month to battery on a dating partner, battery on a police officer and being under the influence of a controlled substance.
His plea came one day after actor Robert Downey Jr. was ordered to spend six months in jail for violating parole on a drug conviction.
Slater was arrested August 11 after officers were called to a brawl at the posh Wilshire Boulevard condominiums. Police heard screaming and found Slater in a stairwell "swinging his arms and yelling incoherently."
Slater threw one officer against a wall and tried to grab his gun. He was subdued and later told police he had been taking heroin and cocaine and drinking "for a couple days and had only a couple hours of sleep," officers said.
Police said Slater wound up in the hallway after fighting at a party with a man who tried to stop him from punching his own girlfriend.

Christian Slater arrested on sexual harassment charge
May 31, 2005
NEW YORK (CNN) -- Actor Christian Slater was arrested in Manhattan early Tuesday after he allegedly sexually harassed a woman on the street, police said.
Slater, 35, was taken into custody in an Upper East Side neighborhood of Manhattan after police responded to a call from a woman who said she had been attacked while walking, said New York Police Sgt. Mary Doherty.
"Basically he grabbed a woman's behind on the street," said Doherty, adding Slater was "intoxicated at the time."
Video showed Slater handcuffed and escorted by police into a squad car. "I didn't do anything," he said.
He has been charged with third degree sexual abuse and is being held at the 19th precinct in Manhattan. He is expected to be arraigned Tuesday morning.
Slater has had previous trouble with the law. In 1997 he was charged with three counts of assault and one count of battery after he assaulted a girlfriend while intoxicated. He served 59 days of a three-month sentence.
Slater has starred in films such as "Interview with the Vampire," released in 1994, 1996's "Broken Arrow," and "Heathers" in 1989.
