Beat Up, Beat Down and Still Standing
Dr. Rose is one of the most sought after speakers
of all time. On December 7, 2000, she made history, national news—becoming the first woman
to be released from prison by former CA Governor, Gray Davis after a murder conviction.
Entangled in the bondage of an extremely violent and
abusive relationship, Ms. Parker received a twenty-seven year to life prison sentence for
murdering [in self defense] her estranged boyfriend. Ms. Parker’s struggle was great,
leaving three small sons [ages nine, two and infant— born during her trial] for her family to
rear. However, Ms. Parker’s parents, Rev. and Mrs. Emanuel January, instilled faith, trust and
belief in God, early in her life and she clung to God’s word during her 15 year imprisonment,
knowing that 1 Corinthians 10:13 says He’ll never put more on me than I can bear. Although
officials were determined to make prison her final dwelling place, she always said, “I’m going
home.”
Even though she was in physical bondage,
spiritually she remained strong and served God. She was the choir and praise & worship leader,
musical coordinator and aerobics instructor for 11 years of her incarceration. Additionally, she
prepared curriculum and facilitated over 300 workshops and seminars, including Breaking
Barriers and Victims Services.

Ms. Parker was classified as a model prisoner and parolee, who
believes her full pardon, is imminent. In fact, she has no other offenses and the judge presiding
over her trial, the probation officer and the deputy district attorney each wrote letters
stating that Ms. Parker was never a threat to society and should not have been imprisoned.
Ms. Parker has made many television appearances, with
exclusive interviews on: CNN, ABC, NBC, and “The Potters’ Touch” on TBN & the Word Network, “The
Montel Williams Show”, “Let There Be Light” “Niteline” and others. She has accepted several
speaking engagements, sharing her testimony at Women Thou Art Loosed with Bishop T.D. Jakes was
a vision that came to pass in 2003.
She also has many projects and visions in progress, including
a women’s home that opened up July 2006. She is determined to minister to women, regardless of
race, creed or nationality. Ms. Parker, a survivor and an advocate for the abused, has
allowed God to take complete control of her life. She has become Founder CEO of her destiny and
Saving Our Women International, Inc., an organization designed to equip women with real,
raw and down to earth messages that inspire them to recognize, escape and survive abusive
relationships, “No matter what you go through, all things work together for the good to them
that love God and are the called according to His purpose God is able to do exceedingly abundantly
above all we could ask or think according to the power that is at work in us by grace and through
faith.”
Dr. Parker’s motives are unselfish. She
knows she has been called to minister to women and knows that it’s not because of who she is,
but because of whose she is — a woman after God’s own heart — her speaking engagements, workshops
and seminars will minister to women across the world and give them hope and courage to take
control of their destiny and life’s purpose. Dr. Rose is a licensed and ordained minister.
On May 25, 2003 she graduated from the Rock World
Outreach Christian Center School of Ministry in Loma Linda, CA, Jim & Debra Cobrae, Pastors. She
